The
Ibanez TS808 Tube Screamer is one of the most popular overdrive pedals
ever – and has been for 35 years. The unmistakable green stompbox is
prized by many greats of rock for its creamy tone and precise address.
Now the Tube Screamer family is growing, in the form of the new TS808DX
pedal.
Strictly speaking, the TS808DX combines two
pedals in one: the classic TS808 with the legendary JRC4558D chip and a
boost pedal that can raise the volume by up to 20db. Both effects have
individual True Bypass-capable circuits that can be used individually or
in combination. Another feature is the “Post / Pre” toggle switch. This
allows internally to put the booster before or after the tube screamer
unit in the effect path. With another switch on the back of the pedal,
the TS808DX can be operated with 9 or 18 Volt internal voltage.
